Importance of Film Distribution

Approximately 8-10,000 independent films are produced each year with the vast majority never getting major distribution and over 95% of the films never get a theatrical release. There are many reasons for this but the bottom line is that it is difficult for an independent film, regardless of quality, to be profitable without proper marketing and distribution. The success of American Addict and previous films by Director Sasha Knezev has enabled us to develop relationships to ensure distribution before our films are even completed. This fact dramatically improves the chances of a high return on investment.. Having this in place dramatically shortens the time frame from film completion and getting the film into the market place. Due to our relationships in Europe and Serbia (the birthplace of the Director) we are able to do most of the post-production of our films in these areas saving hundreds of thousands of dollars, thus increasing the quality of the film to the level of the studio system without the cost, thus increasing the potential return on investment. The trend of watching television shows and film on mobile devices such as I pads, Kindle Fire and smart phones is making the video on demand (VOD) market explode. From a financial standpoint it is making more sense to go directly to this platform and bypass theatrical (or have a very limited large city only theatrical release) release. In general theatrical release is not profitable due to various reasons. In addition, the more informed movie goer is seeking out meaningful films on VOD and subscription services such as Netflix. This is our target audience.
