The film industry is changing a rapid speed. What was true and accepted 5 years ago is no longer the case. More and more people are looking for more than escapism that is common in the typical Hollywood studio film. The large studios are becoming more reluctant to spend big money on films that do not have A list stars and wide general appeal. This usually means a super hero or a cop and bad guy film. It is this lack of creativity and risk taking that has spawned Hollywood into producing films that are sequels to proven money makers or re-makes of successful films and TV shows of the past. The public is starving for high quality films that have meaning; that can tell them the truth but at the same time entertain and educate. The commercial success of films like Food Inc., Inside Job and American Addict has proven this point.
